Severo Jesus Jurado Lopez Biography

Severo Jesus Jurado Lopez is born in Sevilla (Spain) on 9 September 1988. During his childhood, he learned, in the farm of his grandfather, all  the basics of horsemanship and Classical Spanish riding.

At 18 , Severo  entered  La Real Maestranza de Caballería de Ronda where he studied during 3 years and started riding Dressage. At the time, as a young rider, he participated in the European  Championships with one of the horses of  the school.

After his graduation, Severo moved to Germany to work and train with Jan Nivelle. Later, in the Netherlands, he started working with Anne & Gertjan van Olst  where he obtained acclaimed successes not only with their young stallions but also some of the more educated horses. More recently, Severo moved to Helgstrand Dressage in Denmark.

In the recent years, Severo, not even 30 years old yet, have been competing consistently in Europe a group of  horses at different levels , achieving many outstanding results :

  • Fiontini : winning 5 y old test in Verden in 2015 and 6 y old test in Ermelo in 2016;
  •  Deep Impact : 2nd Place in GP and 1st in GP FS in Herning;
  • Lorenzo : 4th in Aachen, 2nd in Salzburg and 1st in Odense in 2016

With his gelding Lorenzo, Severo achieved a 5th place in the final classification of  the 2016 Rio Olympics. His program with music, on Bon Jovi “It’s my life”, remained one of the highlights of the Freestyle test  and was strongly acclaimed by judges and audience.
